Kasteeltuin Oud-Valkenburg.
Botanical garden Oud-Valkenburg (or Castle Garden
Oud-Valkenburg) lies in the grounds of the castle
Schaloen, east of Valkenburg.
Originally this was the kitchen garden of the castle,
now a herbal garden, a 300 year old water mill and
a heritage garden, showing the traditional and natural
flora of the region: nature and history hand in hand.
Volunteers of the “Institution for Education
in Preservation of Nature” (IVN) tend the gardens
and the water mill and serve as hosts/hostesses. |
